The first glimpse of sunlight shines over a field of wildflowers during sunrise in the Columbia River Gorge in Spring. After the long rainy Pacific Northwest winter, meadows of Balsamroot and Lupine flowers burst with the warmer sunny days of Spring along the gorge of eastern Oregon and Washington. Spring is the perfect time to enjoy the wildflower hikes near Portland, Oregon. This sunrise at Rowena Crest was the best I had ever seen, and I’m thankful to have captured this set of landscape photographs that emulates the true beauty of this special area.
