The Wilderness Act marked its 50th anniversary Sept. 3, 2014. To commemorate this monumental anniversary, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History opened the Wilderness50 exhibition, showcasing fine art photographs of these protected lands from the top photographers around the US.
